- WATCH: Café Society.

I know this is the second time I'm mentioning a Woody Allen film in this section, but how couldn't I? Ever since I can remember I wait patiently for his annual movie to come out, and he never disappoints me. This year he went for a classical romantic comedy-drama based in the early 30s, with Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg portraying the two main characters. One thing that I will say is that they're not the most charismatic actors out there, but they fit very well in the atmosphere of the movie. On top of that, the costume design is impeccable, since Chanel re-created 1930s fashion and jewelry especially for the occasion.

- LISTEN: M.IA.

In a world of Kanye and Jay-Z's, we are not very used to seeing female rappers doing their own thing, and that's why Mathangi Arulpragasam aka. M.I.A. is worth listening to. Born in London and raised in Sri Lanka, her music combines elements of electronic, hip hop and world music. With five albums in her discography (the newest one was released this month) she has managed to become a powerful voice in the industry, along with being a producer, visual artist and activist. If you don't know her already, go listen to her new record AIM, which includes a song with the one and only Zayn Malik and the hit-to-be Borders.

- READ: «Franny & Zooey» by J. D. Salinger.

The Catcher in the Rye could be considered as one of the most influential books in popular culture and it's still a bestseller in the 21st century, even though it was published in 1951. Now, after reading that one and loving it, I decided to dig a bit more into Salinger's work, and that's when I came across Franny and Zooey. Like Holden's story, teenage angst and alienation are the mayor themes, but it also has some eastern religious philosophy elements, given the authors interest on those matters. I think this one is a good choice if you're looking for something to read in the colder months, since it will make you reflect about what surrounds you and the way you perceive things.
