1. Clean out your closet. Summer means sales, sales mean spending quite a lot of money in new clothes, and new clothes probably mean that you have way more stuff that you need. Holidays are a great time to declutter and make some new room for your autumn/winter purchases, because we all know that's going to happen even if you have spent your life savings in the previous months.

2. Start thinking about A/W looks. If you've successfully completed step 1, it's time to collect a few fashion magazines and decide what you'll wear in the new season. You can make a list with the upcoming trends (clue: velvet, embroideries, ballet and Asian inspiration...) and browse around the shops to start prepping a few outfits here and there.

3. Get inspired. Ideas for your looks don't always have to be found in Vogue or the typical it-girl's Instagram. Watching music videos, films and even TV shows can help you with that task as well. Now, if you want to see the perfect union between music and fashion, Balmain and Kanye West's new collaboration is a good place to start. A good tune, stunning clothes, some of the most influential people of both industries... What else could you need?

4. Relax. Getting ready for September can be a lot of fun, but you shouldn't forget what holidays are about: doing absolutely nothing. By that I don't mean that you have to spend 31 days lying on the sand without even moving to avoid the rising of the tide, but relaxing and taking it easy is necessary every now and then. And don't worry about "waisting your time", you'll have plenty of time to catch up when you get back on track next month.
