Spring is coming | SS17 trends

I am writing this post while it's pouring with rain and so windy that the trees are twisting in the craziest of ways, but according to the experts spring it's on its way, so we'll roll with it. I've you payed some attention to what went down in September 2016 fashion week's, you probably have already spotted some of this trends, but a little reminder or compilation never hurt nobody, right?

- Red + pink. This might be a totally unexpected one for many, but combining red and pink is a thing now. Not only this duo is the most stilysh combo now, but you have to wear the brightest versions of red and pink you can find. It probably isn't the best choice if you want to lay low, but it sure is one to try at least once.

- Bralettes. Have you ever been so sleepy that you have worn your PJs under your clothes? Well, this is kind of the same thing but in a reversed way. Wearing underwear as outwear is now accepted if you get yourself a bralette. You can do some layering if you wear them on top of tops (too obvious?) or with high waisted bottoms for a sexier look. With so many options out there, the possibilities are endless.

- Kitten heels. Let's be honest, wearing extremely high heels might look good, but it is never comfortable. Luckily for us (and our backs), tiny little heels will be a must this next season, just in time to give our feet their spring break. If you are not yet convinced about how good these can look, you can find some inspiration by searching for pictures of Audrey Hepburn or the women from Mad Men, all of them great enthusiasts of this type of heel.

- Modern ruffles. By this time, you probably will have noticed that ruffles are everywhere, from trousers to dresses and even some shoes. Ruffly numbers are a good option if you want to add some movement to minimalist offerings and a little sense of drama. Have you tried dancing with a flouncy-sleeved dress? If you are not convinced yet, Vogue perfectly illustrated how bad you need to get this trend into your wardrobe.

- Robes. Continuing with the theme "I don't feel like getting out of my sleepwear" mentioned above, here come the robes. If you choose one that looks fancy enough, it won't really matter what you are wearing underneath because a) People will be too distracted wondering why you are wearing your nightwear or b) It will look so good that no one will care about those nasty old jeans poking out.

- Girl power. After the (very) disappointing outcome of American elections, the world started to act in order to make this whole situation a bit less messed up, and one of the most important events of that was the Women's March. That worldwide protest took place on the 21st of January (I was lucky enough to attend the one in London) and ever since the fashion industry has also shown quite a few examples of feminism advocacy. No matter who will disagree, the future is female.
