Best of: MFW Fall 2016 Ready-to-Wear
Benvenuto to the Italian takeover of the fashion month! A compilation of some of the most delicate and special designs is awaiting for you. Get your slice of pizza and enjoy the wonderful things that the boot-shaped country can create.
- Alberta Ferretti. You just need to take one look at this show to see that feminine fabrics like lace, tulle and silk were the absolute winners. Ferretti created a lingerie-inspired wardrobe full of delicate dresses and night-to-day outfits, which emanate sweetness and glamour.
- Dolce & Gabbana. The concept of this collection was inspired by princesses and fairy-tales, with designs that would suit every Disney character imaginable. Chandelier-shaped bags, glittery details and Mary Jane shoes make the perfect accessories for a ball or a night full of fantasy.
- Etro. Those flowy dresses and embroidered jackets gave me some real festival vibes when I first saw Etro's bet for the upcoming season. Floral patterns and gipsy-inspired skirts would make the best combinations for a few days of music and bliss, because you know, Coachella is not that far away...
- Luisa Beccaria. If this collection had came out in 2006, it would have been the perfect choice for Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette film. Velvet, brocades and chiffon were definitely a trend in 18th-century France, as well as powder pink and turquoise shades and choker necklaces.
- Trussardi. If all of those flowy materials and complicated details were too feminine for your personal taste, Trussardi's dandy-inspired collection might be more interesting for you. Dark tones and thick fabrics formed some pieces that are perfect for everyday looks, and you can add that special touch with a fedora.
